GLUCOVANCE®

Composition:

Each tablet of GLUCOVANCE 500 mg/2.5 mg contains 500 mg metformin hydrochloride and 2.5 mg of glibenclamide as active ingredients.

Indication:

Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults as replacement for previous treatment with metformin and glibenclamide in patients whose glycaemia is stable and well controlled.

Contraindications: Glucovance must not be used lf:

-        You are allergic (hypersensitive) to metformin hydrochloride, glibenclamide or other sulphonamides or any of the other ingredients of Glucovance.

-        You suffer from type 1 diabetes mellitus.

-        You have kidney Insufficiency or liver insufficiency..

-        You drink alcohol excessively.

-        You are breast-feeding or pregnant.

Adverse Effects:

• Transient visual disturbances.
• Hypoglycaemia.
• Lactic acidosis.
• Gastrointestinal disorders such as nausea. Vomiting, diarrhea abdominal pain.
• Pruritus, urticaria. maculopapular rash.

Dosage and Administration: This medicine is for adults only.

The maximum dose is 2000 mg/20 mg per day (4 tablets of Glucovance 500 mg/5 mg).

Administration: The tablets should be taken with meals. The dosage regimen should be adjusted according to the individual eating habits.
